| Resumo | The Amazon basin contàins hall of the remaining tropical forest. The water balanceof the Amazon basin is o" great importance, due to the presence of the world's largest hydrographic system. Hence, there is á concern that large-scale land usechanges may changes significantly the flow regimes of rivers wíthin the region and the land-atmosphere exchange of moisture. Fluxes between this coupled system controi the inputs of water é and energy to the atmosphere, and the dynamics characterisitcs of the planetary boundary layer. As such, It is reasonable to expect a significant impact on the region's climalology and hydrology in the wake of large-scale land cover changes. |
